This was a good book to read considering that most of the books that I have read about World War II have been about the Holocaust, the Jewish massacre. This book was about some of the hardships of the underprivileged German people especially the children.

Irma,
I am glad that you included this book! It looks like it would be very interesting and could be included in a unit about WWII to give a greater sense of humanity to the German people of that time.

Nice choice!
